Eddie B. Mathis, III, 22 of Barnwell, South Carolina passed away on Monday, June 28, 2021 as a result of multiple gunshot wounds he received as he was walking down the street in the early evening near his home. Eddie had just recently moved to Barnwell, SC a few months earlier.

Eddie was born on April 8, 1999. He had a likeable personality and a huge heart which made him popular with people of all ages. He loved his family, repeatedly talked about his grandmother, and especially loved and treasured the "sugar and spice" of his life, his daughter Ena'Riyah' who provided the motivation that drove Eddie to be better during hard times.

He is survived by his mother: Holly C. Ammons (Barnwell, SC); father: Eddie B. Mathis II (Bartow, FL.); grandmothers: Helen Mathis (Bartow, FL. ), Donna Zettel (Seffner, FL); grandfathers: Walter Walker (Sanford, FL), David Zettel (Sandford, FL); a host of sisters, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Funeral service will be held at Gause Funeral Home on Saturday, July 10, 2021 at 3:00 PM. All persons attending the service must wear a face mask.
